State and government personal agencies are very concerned with high rate of retirements and are preparing themselves for the upcoming highly developed 21st century and recruiting and developing their potential workforce.

The main focus of goal setting intervention in public sector organization is to ensure that these organizations continue to operate competitively and effectively even as leaders leave or pursue other ventures. This is a frequent part of social work organizations whose focus is aimed at fostering client growth. It involves the process of systematically identifying, assessing and developing organizational leadership to ensure that all important positions in an organization are filled. By having a goal setting intervention plan, managerial decisions, daily operations and resource allocations can also be set to improve the performance targets offered by such agencies.

The first step in goal setting intervention in a public sector organization is to know what the customers think is important. This is a salient factor which drives goal setting intervention and measurement in agencies and government establishments.

A big question to be asked is if goal setting intervention applies to the federal government? Well, don’t be alarmed because it covers the federal government too who have to satisfy about 300 hundred million customers. These agencies that are a part of the public sector organization must be the goals set by the President’s Executive Order 12862. This order is the Setting Customer Service Standard which requires agencies to offer customer service that is equal to the quality business processes.

The federal government faces challenges that are not unique to the public sector, rather a combination of both which makes the fundamental performance improvements harder to achieve than expected.

A small amount of factors can affect goal setting interventions and management efforts, but customer needs, stakeholders concerns and corporate resources must be put into consideration. The following are a number of critical success factors used for goal setting in public sector organizations:

· The involvement of stakeholders must be present so as to help in the improvement program.

· There should be a measure of their performance and use it as a yardstick against other organizations performance and business needs.

· They should systematically link improvement goals to the organization’s objectives and core business culture: this way a clear vision of the outcomes must be achieved at defined milestones.

· Improvement goals to day-to-day decision making activities at operational level must be supported by educational training programs.

· Ambitious and realistic goals must be set which should be a basis of the mission, customers’ needs and current performance levels which will challenge the organization to achieving great performance improvements.

A vital information to take not is goal setting intervention and process in public sector organizations requires careful consideration. In order to avoid negative consequences, the performance goals must be realistically achievable, at the same time, setting goals which are too modest can lead an organization to stick to the current work process which would be difficult to change in the long run, thereby creating counter productivity.

In conclusion, agencies need to make concurrent progress on important factors thereby agreeing on ther missions and goals and defining the outcomes by building data systems and staff. With these in progress, goal setting intervention in public sector organizations will be achievable and attainable.

Postcards from the Volcanic Spews

The volcanic unrest of the Mayon Volcano in the Philippines has led to a lot of tourists visiting the country.
The latest news which I heard about the presently active volcano is that, its been spewing ash and flaming rocks for the pase few days. This looks like a dangerous condition because it is possible the eruption may cause a disaster but the natives and inhabitats feel things are normal like every other day and believe there is no cause for havoc.
The tourists on the other hand who are visiting the country are moving around with cameras and lots of pictures and videos. Already that image has evolved together with the developing media and advertising. Still the Marlboro man has that same effect no matter how much it has changed over the years.

This is advertising coming a long way and is still very much successful. The number of teens that took up smoking once they have seen that ad cannot anymore be counted. The powerful words plus the promises of relieving stress has been legendary. The advertisers and the printing company that made up the Marlboro man must be laughing hard on their way to the bank for making such a phenomenon.

The smokers? It took them years to realize and agree that cigarette smoking is dangerous to the lungs. Took them a lifetime also to come to the realization that puffing a stick does not make them anything close to the man they see on television and on print ads. Some sick joke has been played on them by the magic of advertising and printing and what is worst is that they do not know it yet, up to now.

Save by using Color Printers

In making a tri-fold color brochure, one is faced with deciding what type of printer to complete the job. The mono chromatic printers is a type of printer which can do this. The color laser printer is another type of printer which can complete the task as well, but the difference is monochromatic printers which offers different features of printing.
A color printer and a monochrome printer can print brochures and other print articles at essentially the same speed, but the cost of white and black prints is much more cheaper than the colored printer.
In essence, a marketing associate who is interested in making brochures will have use colored prints in making his brochures because essentially, full color brochures printing are usually more colorful, full of life and bright compared to the old monochromatic printers. But when we look at the costs involved, a monochromatic printer which is usually cheaper tends to cost you very little compared to full colored prints from the colored laser.
By carefully analysing the situation, the amount you spend on 100 folds of brochures printed by a monochromatic printer would be much more expensive than that printed by a color laser printer in the next 4-5 years, this is becuase laser color prints are becoming cheaper and replacing the old techniques monochromatic printers offer.
Although, mono chormatic printers have a kind of lasting effect, but a color laser can also do what the old printers do, so why not get your prints done by a color laser printer.

Marketing your Print Ads

Marketing is an essential part of running a business. Of course. You cannot expect the same colors to be printed the way it is in the more articulate full-color digital prints. If you are thinking otherwise, then it is best that you try and go back to learning about CMYK and Pantone color prints.
Printer calibration also has that effect on colors. If you look closer, the prints you made earlier is not the same as the pints you have just made. The way you have programmed your printer will not always give you the same results.
So if you want the same colors to appear in your business, it is important that you know how the color printing process works. Since consistency is one factor you want to project, then it is vital that you know how to make the most of the process.
Oftentimes, colors is what makes businesses successful. They make people remember. Incorporate what color your business should have so you and your business will not be any different from those thriving one.

Impressions and what they can do

Impressions are blurry ideas in which confidences are given. Catalogs, for instance, must leave a lasting and positive first impression. Before they can encourage potential readers to read on, they must entice them first to come closer and take a look at them.

To complete the marketing formula, the company or its marketer must entrust the potential masterpieces to a master in catalogs printing. If you have hesitations and worries ask the pool of experts that surround the color printing company. They will help you seek solutions to your catalogs printing dilemmas.

In the production of catalogs, areas of concentration must be established and considered. Some product need not be included in the catalog while some are indispensable.

After selection is categorization or grouping. There are products that can be grouped as one while there are products that need to be presented singly. Samples of these products are the feature for the month and the freshly released products.

Next to categorization is the process of creating descriptions. Descriptions must be exact or definite. The first is the two-color brochure printing. As the name implies, it only uses two colors. Most often it comes in black and white or a monochrome of a color. This is the cheapest kind of printing process for brochures. However, this may not be applicable to all designs. Some may appear classic, some may appear dull and lifeless.
Another process is the 4 color brochures printing. Most of the catchy brochures we have these days are printed in this process. 4 color brochures printing uses CMYK colors. These are cyan, magenta, yellow and black. These colors are used to create other colors that will complement the colors in your design. There are computer software programs that convert any text or image to CMYK. In this manner, it will be easy for the printers to work on your brochure printing needs.
One of the main highlights why lots of people are choosing 4 color printing is that the inking or mixing process is computer-controlled. Moreover, they are getting consistent colors all throughout the printing job. Plus they are getting it at a competent price. These are probably the reasons why 4 color brochures printing is the most popular choice among savvy entrepreneurs.
PMS or pantone color and six color printing can also be had. Only that these processes are exorbitant. However, the choice is yours to make…

Capture Reality thru Colors Fantasy

Color means lots of things. It conveys moods, emotions, message and character. It can be a symbol, warning or threat. It can motivate, dishearten, heal, infuriate and inspire. It can be many things.

Colors can bring life to any picture. It can seize 100% image precision. In fact, it can do even better. What seems to be pale, plain and boring can turn out to be magnificent and captivating. This is the reason why colors are indispensable to commercial color printing.

The fame of color printing paved way for excellence in marketing tools like postcards, business cards, brochures, catalogs and the likes. Full color commercial printing uses four screens and four inks (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) to produce impressive original or desired color for graphics, images and texts.

The lifeblood seems to be the use of colors. Each one is dependent on the other. They need each other to be able to work.

That is why it is important to pay very close attention to the inks you are consuming. The best way to do it is to educate yourself on the best way to maintain and make them last longer.

Be aware of the number of pages an ink will print. You can get this from the printer manufacturer itself. When you know the appropriate number of print pages, you will know your limitation.

Consider black ink. Black inks are fine if they are just for text prints. Colors are better off saved for graphics, drawings or other presentations. Besides, black ink are less expensive compared to colored inks.

Use ink saving modes. These are the draft mode. Most computers have this function available. This is your best option if you are printing a lot of not so important documents. There is no use in using colored inks when you will just dispose of it later on.

Education and practicality is the key to ink consumption. There is no other way to do it.

How pictures got into CDs

There was a time when these things were just plain-looking and ordinary. But now there are complete with pictures, drawings and images. Not just any other kind too but those colorful and realistic designs. These things? CDs.

Although there are desktop publishing layouts that do the trick to make these pictures come alive on CDs, others are using the more traditional and more effective screen printing approach. This kind of printing is what puts the pictures on the surface.

So it seems that some traditional printing does last. And that people do have to come back to the old ways to make better prints. But when you think of it more, there is no other way of doing it right.

Next time you see these kinds of CDs, you may want to take time to look at the pictures and images that are printed there. Try to appreciate them for awhile. It’s the least you can do for all the efforts that the makers have put into making them.

You may also want to check out the designs and try to compare so you’ll know what to look for whenever you want to have one those of pictured CDs.

Printing you can do at home

If only people knew what they can do with their home printers, then they would not be anymore in need of photo printing companies like Full Color Printing Company: Comercial Printing to do the work for them.

Although these companies have been known for their printing capabilities, more and more people are opting to just have their printing needs done at home. In this case, no colors.

Studies have shown that using colors in printed documents have resulted in increased readership and faster understanding.

According to the same study, 78 percent of all consumers more likely to remember a message printed in color than one in black and white. Whatever kind of document a business is making, whether memorandum or presentations, color helps people remember and hear what is being said.

This is may be the same reason why many companies are using colored printers for all their printing needs. One reason is that color printers have become much less expensive to buy and use.

Actually, the prices of color printing have become so reasonable that many are not considering the fact that maintaining one can be costly in the long run.

Now, does color printing makes sense or what? Check out for yourself and see what happens.

The digital color world

Color has gotten more colorful now that they come in digital.

The article was advertising about what their digital color printing can do to every kinds of printing materials, big and small.

That company is just among the many who already does good color printing. This is especially so when dealing with written communication.

A written message is stagnant. It needs to speak for itself. A great content is not enough. How the content is presented should be given focus to achieve effective communication.
Many communicators do not realize that style can override substance.

Now, how can you improve the quality of your presentation? Start from the basic. That basic and fundamental element of written communication is FONT.

To put it simply, font is the style of your typeface.

Why are fonts a critical aspect?

When used well, fonts or fonts mix can accomplish four important things; attention focus, readability, tone setting and image projection.

Font is your defense against reader lack of interest and your first shot at capturing the audience. Prepare yourself for a step change in the printing and electronics industries. People may now have the technology and the ability to explore new opportunities as the printing and electronics industry converge.

Without question silicon chips have had a massive impact on our lives since their invention almost sixty years ago. However, there are many applications where their cost, fragility and time to market mean they are not viable.
For such applications, a new disruptive technology is emerging which could ultimately have an even bigger impact to humankind than silicon had. Check:
Text background.
To make flyers, brochures and other printed production more attractive, designers use background images. If you have such background images behind text, make sure, that the text is readable.
Do not make background too dark behind the black text. Try to adjust opacity of images or tint them so they are in contrast with text. You do not want your text to appear unreadable because of the background colors you use.
Spelling and punctuation.
Before you send your documents to a print shop check spelling and punctuation. Some text editors can do this for you. Do not let an unfortunate misprint make all that you have done go to waste.
How you use words and spellings will determine the kind of image you are projecting.

Being loyal has its rewards…

Although looking around for the best price is really important, you should also try to consider the time involved in getting numerous quotes and the time involved in learning the requirements and habit of a variety of different printers.

If you think about it, you could have save more by remaining faithful to the one you are already using. That’s why it is very important for you to consider your target audience, the psychology of color, and the corporate image you wish to project before you begin.
When color is used correctly, it can add impact and clarity to your message and highlight important points. When color is used incorrectly, it can compromise your message and confuse your target audience.
Color emphasizes, highlights, and leads the eye to important points or links. Color identifies recurring themes. Color can differentiate, such as different colors in pie charts and bar graphs. And color symbolizes and triggers emotions and associations.
The interpretation of a color depends on culture, profession, and personal preference. People will not have the same understanding of the colors you use. Take that into consideration.
The best thing to do is to associate them with what your message is and think of the result from your readers’ point of view.
Again, try to consider your target audience, the psychology of color, and the corporate image you want to get through to them before you begin “coloring” your work.

To go about printing on the dark side of your shirt

Simulated process uses opaque inks and in more than just four colors, often between six and eight. These are usually White, Red, Yellow, Green, Dark Blue, Light Blue, Gray, and Purple.
Simulated process colors are usually printed wet-on-wet, with few flashes. For example, to create a flesh tone simulated process would use a mixture of tan, opaque yellow and possibly white.
Since the colors are opaque, the dark background becomes a non-existent. If individual, particular colors are needed, they can be mixed to specification and individually printed.

When done correctly and successfully, it is the most accurate version of full color reproduction. And for shops with smaller presses with fewer heads available, the multiple colors required for simulated process may not be possible at all.
Also for subtle, nuanced art with slight changes in tone, such as pastels, the bright, solid colors of simulated process do not work well.

While screen printing images on dark shirts may be difficult, the results can be amazing and are worth the time and effort involved regardless of which type of printing you use.

Web pages that are printer friendly

Many people are finding it hard and a waste of money to try and print direct from the web pages. This can post a major dilemma especially if you want to get your work done quickly and without much ado.

For all of you having a hard time printing web pages, here is a quick way to print only the content without printing the extraneous material on the sides of the web page.

Place your mouse cursor at the beginning of the newsletter text you want to have printed. Left-click on the mouse and drag it all the way to the end of the content.

Next release the left mouse button and right-click anywhere on the highlighted copy and choose 'print' from the menu. When the print dialog box comes up look in the "Page Range" section and tick the one that says "selection" then click the Print button at the bottom of the box.

Another way would be to highlight the text as described above and right-click on the selected text and choose "copy". Next, open up Notepad or a Word document. Right click on the blank page and select 'paste'. From there you can edit out and print what you want.

I see strange colors…

Have you ever made a photo in your imaging program only to get bizarre colors when it got printed? The photo used to look great but now all the hideous colors are making your eyes water.
If you haven’t been in that situation, don’t worry because sooner or later, you will be.
If your printer has been doing fine and all the sudden this situation crops up, it is probably one of two ink related problems.
Problem 1: Your ink cartridge is empty.
The only solution is to visit your nearest office supply store and make a donation to your printer manufacturer for more ink.
Problem 2: The other cause of this printer malady is a clogged printer head.
If you have not used your printer in awhile and are reasonably sure you have ink in the cartridge, this is likely the problem. All it takes is one nozzle getting clogged for a ticket to weird colors.
The solution to this can be a bit tedious but easy. When the drivers for your printer were installed, there was probably a utility for cleaning the print heads. Finding it usually is the only challenging part.

Commercial printing demystified

There is only one right way to print the job and about a thousand ways to print it wrong.
This is true even with a single and simple printing project. The most important thing to remember is that printing is confusing.
If you need 5,000 copies of your fax form, you can confidently bring the original to a local print shop yourself.
If you need 5,000 full-color brochures, call in the design troupes.
Keep in mind that there are ways a designer can make a 2-color job carry the strength of a full-color job. Or make a 1-color job exceptional by adding embossing or a die cut for the cost of a second color.
Gutenberg developed a chart that defines basic commercial printing terms and describes the variables that make print jobs rise in cost and complexity.
In honor of his invention, an international panel of scientists chose Gutenberg as the most outstanding person of the millennium.
Today, printing is second to Agriculture as the largest industry in the world. What will you do? You have to adapt to get the best results.
Do not go bonkers yet. The solution? Microsoft Publisher.
In case you do not know it yet, it is possible to produce high-quality printed pieces from Publisher files. But you may have to take different steps during the production process
Despite the kind of commercial printer you choose, your Publisher files would not give satisfactory results unless you meet certain requirements. What are some of these?
You will have to make sure your layout file is in the appropriate color space, set up bleeds if anything on the page goes to the edge of the sheet, and supply the fonts and images used in the design.
Without these key pieces, you may be faced with unexpected additional costs and a lot of time wasted before your job can print.
Which option would you rather have?

Printing from cell phones is not new anymore.

Many of these cell phones have already been internet capable so it is no wonder that people would have the capacity to do their business, and printing, on a anytime anywhere basis as long as they have their units available.
Merging with printer manufacturers only made things a lot easier. It can be expected that printing companies like Full Color Printing Company: Commercial Printing would follow eventually in this example.
The idea through all this may have come from the fact that many images are now being printed straight from cell phones. Think of all the people already owning camera phones and using them in their everyday lives. Why not other means of printing?
Printing from cell phones may be the next big thing that can come after printing from the internet. At least, there would be no need of a computer set to get on with everyone’s printing needs. You have the capability to store, sort, and catalog up to 1,000 images right in the printer, freeing up all of your camera's memory for the next set of images you will be capturing.
Sharing is more convenient than ever since this printer lets you edit photos and burn them to CD without having to turn on your desktop PC or bring along your laptop. This would be useful after the holidays when you want far-flung relatives to turn green with envy at the pictures of celebrations that they have missed.
If you are using this for business, imagine being able to impress a client with photos you have customized and assembled into a CD album, or produced on glossy, fade-resistant 4-by-6-inch paper. This is due to other card makers’ deep discounts and a variety of new competitors. Major card makers have been forced to begin selling inexpensive lines in recent years as consumers began turning their backs on $4 cards.
The price of cards has increased in part because of the higher costs of paper and labor. Also, greeting cards have become more intricate during the past few years. Things such as specialty papers and computer chips have been employed by many card makers to enhance sales.
In 1999 Hallmark released its Warm Wishes line of cards, which sells for 99 cents. American Greetings () soon followed with similar prices. Still, according to Hallmark, the less-expensive cards are not the biggest sellers.
It seems that consumers do not go value shopping during the holidays such as this coming Christmas. Once-in-a-year events do not have to be saved on, if you ask me.
Hallmark and American Greetings, both companies sell 85 percent of the nation’s greeting cards, have recently launched advertising campaigns in newspapers and on television to lure customers to their retail stores.

Affordable Color Laser Printers

Laser color printers have evolved from the once expensive machines that only a certain few can afford to the ones that even small businesses and homes can attain. Obviously because of the low prices that they have.

As was mentioned by Eric on his article, the task of printing colors from home before was a definite no-no. Why? Because if you only want the best result to come out of your printing job, you would want to hire the expert to do it for you.

With the affordable and availability of laser printers, this is not anymore the case. The task may seem frightening at first, with you having no experience above all things. But then, once started, the feeling of having done it yourself and is successful is a priceless factor in itself.

As always, if you want to quality, it has to be HP . So far, they seem to be everybody’s choice whether in business or personal printing needs.

Laser color printers are here and nothing is stopping them from ruling the printing industry. Not until the time something much better, and affordable comes along, anyway.

How to avoid being fuzzy

In color prints, that is. Did you know that printing small type in more than one color is a nightmare for printers? Now you know. For some it may be a challenge just to keep up with what the customer wanted. If it did not turn out as expected, it would simply mean looking fuzzy or bad in simple terms.
Why do you minimize the risk of printing fuzzy color types?
You can minimize this risk in the following way. Whenever possible, print small type in one color. Failing that, print the type in two colors, but make one of them a very light color. An example of this would be a color made up of 100 percent magenta and 100 percent yellow. If the yellow is out of register, only a trained eye with a loupe will see it.
You can also minimize problems by setting small type in a sans serif face. And as a rule, avoid setting multi-colored type smaller than 10 pt.
Follow these steps to not have a fuzzy and indistinguishable color prints.

Not-so-cheesy

It has been an age-old problem for those persons who do not have that god-given smile and photogenic face to have their picture taken. The usual scenario would be too much time wasted on retakes because instead of smiling, the pout was caught on film. Even with digital cameras, timing should be perfect.
Many people would be delighted to know that Canon is working on a smile-sensitive camera. To further explain, these are digital cameras that will automatically take a shot once the subject is smiling. They call it Smile Shot.
Just think of all the film conserved. Not to mention the time and effort needed if persons want to make the perfect shot. It would be worth the expensive price, if it is expensive, that is.
People do not have to worry about saying things like “cheese” or anything as stupid just to have that smile on film. All that is needed is to smile a lot. You never know if one of those smiles is just right.

Experiment by doing it your way

Even with all modern technologies are everyone’s disposal, it is hard to capture the perfect photo on film. Forget about digital innovations for a second. Let us go back to photos made by traditional cameras.

For those who have already mastered the craft, they would know how to get the perfect pictures caught on film. But for those who don’t know it yet, there are tips on how best to go about taking photos that will appear great on film.

One way is to keep the background simple. This helps put more attention on the main subject. That is the primary objective, in the first place. Notice that the best pictures have a strong and clear subject, with an uncluttered background.

Another way is to place your subject off-center. Compare a centered picture with an off-center one. Which one looks better? Subjects not put in the center makes the image stronger and more intriguing. Experiment the best position that will look its best.

Even though there are many full color commercial color printing that can do the job for you, try to do it your way. Try to use these tips and see the result.

Cutting printing expenses additional two

You have probably heard about tips on how best to cut your printing expenses. And you probably have read just about the same things being said about it. Now how about some tips that you do not get to read everyday. Not really that unique but at least quite different from what is always said.

1. Evaluate printing technologies to identify innovations that can serve you and your organization far better than the current technology that everybody is using.

2. Assess the current printer deployment strategy to be sure that you have put the right printers in the right places to serve the right purpose.

The most common full color digital printing needs of the people are always achieved by modern technologies. But sometimes, for all its modernity, the result is not often as good as expected.

This is the time to try and consider the advise mentioned above. Maybe you just need to take some time off from the technologies and go back to a more traditional approach. Might work too.

Putting a finger on negative space

If you’ve ever seen a logo that does not look quite right, so have many others.

Seems that the font look good. The icon just as memorable. The shades and shape perfect. But you are getting these signals that something is out of place. Something is not quite right? No specific factor you can point your fingers into. What is wrong?

Ever cross your mind that it might be the negative space around the design or logo?

Negative space is the space that surrounds a visual object. The concept is simple. The empty space around the words or pictures can make a whole lot of difference on how it is perceived by the persons looking at it. An image can look funny if the spaces are too large or too small.

Some full color commercial color printing may already know about negative space and how it affects the images. Then again, the designers may be the one who has initial understanding about these things.

If an image or logo is appealing, the negative space was done perfectly. If it is not, some changes is obviously needed. Try tweaking some of the spaces around…

Welcome back visuals

In the old days, visual graphics were the prime source of displaying what others wanted other people to see. It was only when the technology age came that these graphics were set aside to give way to more modern means of presenting materials.

It is good to note that, with Duralex, at least there are still other people willing to get back the printed age but with more innovative tools to use. With these tools are more realistic pictures and other techniques that can make viewing a pleasurable task.

Distributors of pop up displays like Tradeshow-Display-Experts.com and Canada Display Graphics may have something here worth some thinking over.

Nothing like having someone starts a printing trend likely to be used by many. And many some will get the idea that old trends can still be developed to keep up with the modern world.

Besides, everybody seems to be going back to the basics. Not just in printing too. Look around and see some things from the past developed and presented in the now.

Digital photos blown to its extreme

The better question should have been, how large can a digital photo be blown up?

What can be done to digital photos cannot be done to ordinary photos. Meaning those that are taken by ordinary camera, not a digital one.

The thing to remember is resolution. That is what matters most upon enlarging an image. Resolution in the original shot as was said in the article. The more resolution the shot has the more detail it will capture.

Digital technology is all about perfecting what was done imperfectly. So if you cannot make it better upon shooting, use Photoshop.

Notice the many beautiful photos you see more today? The quality would not be possible if it weren’t for digital technologies. That is why; many advertisers are also trying to outdo the biggest of displays to show their wares.

After all, that is the trend and what better way to be part of if than to do things digitally. Try to enlarge an ordinarily shot photo and see if it will turn out any closer to the original one…

Digital does that best.

Expect to see some old localized advertising

Seems we will be getting to see more of those old-styles advertising that are door-to-door. Not much has been seen of them because of the internet and other modern communication and advertising facilities.

Nothing like doing it home to home to ensure being delivered right there and then. Plus, people get to read them in front of you if only out of courtesy but at least they did read it unlike if sent by email or snail mail.

Some basic things to remember when going door-to-door:

1. And more salesperson knocking on your doors and making your life miserable.

Try to think of it on the lighter side, at least you get to shout at them. Then the more modern people in the company decided that they need to boost their sales more. What did they thought of?

Colors. They have somehow found an inexpensive way of adding red to the ads. Red border and red types that resulted to higher rates. A proof that color really has some effect on people, after all. No to mention a good marketing tool too.

Now that Yellow Pages are not yellow anymore, what about those other publications that have followed in their trend and have used the same yellow in their titles and colors?

With the new printing techniques that have come out already, 4-color ads are made available. And many new companies have variety of color choices to choose from and make it their starting selling point.

Does color really work? For some they really do. But there are those who do not make use of colors in their prints but still come out successful and well-known. Well, who’s to say? I guess it depends on the color or the non-color.

Digital Prints Super Sale

A great way of saying thank you is what Digital Prints Super Sale is doing. Nothing like giving discounts and special offers to maintain your old customers and even gain some more.

Although many people have the capability to have their digital photos taken, not all of them are capable of printing them out taking quality and price into consideration. Digital Prints Super Sale is giving that opportunity to people and may not come often too.

Not many people printing companies are capable of offering large format digital prints and I think what this one company is offering should be taken made the most of.

Does this company have any branches in some parts of the world? If there is, are they offering the same discounts and sale prices that the UK branch is giving out?

If it were me being anywhere near that sale, I would definitely take advantage of the offer because like I said, it is not everyday that people are getting offers like that. An added advantage; they can be sold too. A lot of people are actually buying these drawings and graphics like the art that is created using the hands alone.
At least people do realize the value of art done using gadgets and software. Whether it is a real-life picture or more like an abstract interpretation of something, it does not really matter As long as the piece shows potential, then it is considered valuable.
It cannot be denied that there are still some people out there not really trying to embrace the technology and wanting to stick to the old ways and styles of making an artwork.
Some think technology is evil and should not be incorporated with life.
Some also thinks that the value is seen from the time and effort put into it. If artists before have gone through many years to finish one work, that in itself is worth more than gold.
The thing with technology is everyone becomes the master that they want. And everything can possibly be done.

What Bill wants, Bill gets

Bill Gates was not contented when he gave Microsoft and all its great aspects to the people. He wanted computer users, Microsoft users of course, to have a more enjoyable on-screen reading experience. That is why he made improving reading on the screen as one of his top priorities.

Expect new typefaces to appear in 2006 because Microsoft will be shipping its operating system and other software products. The typefaces are especially designed for extended on-screen reading.

Open Type technologies is a brand new font collection to improve the structure and clarity of letter forms. This simply means that stories and other forms of prints will be easier to read. The letters and words would not be mushy and soft looking whh makes them difficult to comprehend.

These new fonts will be suitable for both print and on-screen application. If Bill Gates can pull this off, it would be another big thing in the printing industry as only he is capable of making. I think those with not so clear “reading eyes” would be more than thankful if ever this comes out in the market.

People have a lot to thank Bill of. The copiers and scanners that have just been machines before are now software that links directly to the internet or to any other means that can make printing handy and without using a printer. Colored too.

There are a lot of things happening to color prints. The innovative tools and machines that make them possible is a justification that the best color print should appear in all print jobs. Another factor contributing to color usage is the almost the same value and bulk that can be printed in B&W and colors. It does not take a genius to figure out that you are actually paying and spending more or less the same amount of time in the two kinds of prints.

Third is the fact that people want to see what the same colors they see on screen done in printing. Looks better that way if you think of the cheaper amount if they just made a colored copy instead of printing one.

Copying and scanning to take the place of printing in an option given to people. The people only have to choose how they will go about their printing needs.

Cheaper yet quality prints

Printing more for a lesser price is the trend today. It is what makes people happy and contented with the service you are offering. Companies taking their business online have become a prime and major source of information searching and gathering for most people. The convenience online services give makes people comfortable enough to stay loyal and use that kind of service more.

The challenge for printing businesses nowadays is to try and convince people of the importance of documents as medium of retention and as a concrete structure of something that should be kept a record with.

The one company that is continuing to give good color printing services is Kodak . To keep up with the technology-dependent world, they are trying to make new changes as well as developing the traditional printing quality that they have become known to.

There has already been a lot of printing mediums coming into existence. The game now is about who can give the kind of printing people want to have, digital or not. To survive is to evolve and be unique.

A lot can learn from what Kodak has been doing.

Google may be in for some competition

Google may be dominating the internet searches nowadays but it seems that it should expect some stiff competition to come in the coming future.

In a recent technology conference held in San Francisco, The owner of the search engine, Ask Jeeves, stated that the dominance of Google would not last for long now that there are other search engines out in the market and is making some progress, slow maybe, but progress still.

Everything usually starts from the bottom and work its way up. People should not underestimate the power of the newly developing technologies to replace the rather famous but old ones.

Ask Jeeves is expected to have a 35 to 50 percent share of the search engine market over time. You can never tell if people will find that search engine more useful than Google so concluding anything for the meantime should be kept aside first.

Anything is possible. And making it possible to take printing into another dimension by doing it online instead of having to take that trip to printing shops.

Printing companies like Full Color Printing Company: Commercial Printing, should also be grateful with the invention of these online services because it eases some burdens that come with their line of work.

The only problem that people encounter in internet is the limitations in browsers that hinder the searches and browsing. This same thing has become a big hindrance to those who only want the fastest means of connection and browsing.

One of the newest tools being developed today is the need to eliminate refreshing a web page every time the user enters and receives a data. The refresh button has long been of use to those who may want to retrieve data or make connecting faster.

What would they put in the place of the ever useful refresh? Faster and no failing connection maybe. In a way, the author
is telling about how some basic concepts should still be used.
Digital technology is continuously being improved and being pushed especially in the printing
industry. Some of the traditional means of printing has already been changed or developed
and even discarded. Works of art do not anymore take years to make. All you need is a few
digital tools and a computer to do just that.
The use of digital technology takes some skills and some getting used. Once that has surpassed,
then anything can be created and made possible.
Life is really getting easier in the times of technology. Getting complicated too.
I wonder how many people would opt for old styles with less hassles than easier
machines giving complications?

Theme Park Maps and Brochures

Take-out souvenirs

It is amazing how theme park maps and brochures have evolved since people have started using them.
Try picturing the days when all you see in them were legends and lines pointing here and there.
Having the best in printing technology may have been the answer to all the changes in the printing
style and application.
Based from what I have seen so far, the trend in brochures and maps tend to be something
of an abundance of colors. If that is not enough, the pictures depicting the locations and
landmarks should look exactly like the original one. If a tower is present then by all means,
draw a tower. The real color should be the ones used in the pictures too.
The emerging and growing Full Color Printing Company: Commercial Printing makes these
brochures not just something will throw away afterwards. Allowing a certain
country’s publication to be printed on another country is not something
new anymore. What is quite new is what John Burke has mentioned in
his article about letting these prints be published even before the host
country had theirs.
This is just following their respective time zone difference. But not in
favor of those who probably be disturbed by what is written and will not
hesitate to call the ones who are still in the midnight time zone if you get
what I mean?
I think this would give delivery services and shipments a run for their
money if ever online printing would become the trend and would not be
needing their services anymore.

Point taken

There was a point there about having someone asking to have information about your business or company and what do you give in return? A website URL or a link? Think how hard it is to memorize those things if given to you,
let’s say, in a gathering. If I was the receiver, I would probably not
remember it. Save maybe those who are either too interested or have the time to search online for that information.
I am sure many would agree with Mitch about the importance of
brochure in prints in the internet world. But if I were asked which
one I’d prefer, I would still opt for the print. Not that I am against modern technology or something, just being practical and sticking to practical solutions.
The obvious reason being I can get to read them while I’m commuting
or walking towards the office. And I would not need a computer on
my lap to do that. Or having a sandwich and holding that with the brochure
with the other. For the outdated ones out there, this is already the thing now. Society has already gotten over the shock of seeing marriages of the same sex. Do your share by trying to accept that.

Occasional news and features about them are not enough so newspapers and other publications are now printing their wedding and union announcements in their pages, in answer to some equality project that gives right to these individuals to be more publicized.

The project is planning to expand more on the local and regional newspapers in order to increase the awareness about same sex unions especially to those who are still unaware of these things or those who are morally against them.

The campaign seem to be a success from the start as more and more people, non-straight of course, are putting on more and more announcement in the papers. Those who are opposing against high
taxes in the government would probably have some thinking twice to do if
they only knew how their money are used. That is, if they are only aware of
these things. Peterme sure made some sense out of things that people have been seeing repeatedly but is taken for granted.
If you look at some of the designs and layout that other
government brochures have, they do not really cater them according to the styles that designersd would have preferred them to be, much to the
chagrin of perfectionists and those that have eyes for these designs.
If you look at some of the designs that public parks are already using,
they can be considered much more refreshing and pleasing to the eyes as opposed to those who just made copies for the sake of just making ones.
Having the proper and great design is no easy task.
Ask the designers. Cost some amounts of money too.
Better have good money spent on good designs
than nothing at all, if you ask me.

Setting an example or setting a trend?

Printing companies that are continuously upgrading their printing technologies to digital may suddenly be the target of Xerox Corporation. The focus would not be on the technologies being used, mind you. Or the competition between the capabilities of the machines being used compared to them. These companies would be hit on an area they do not expect to be hit; the effects of digital to the environment.

If the studies are correct, digital technologies have been found out to cause sokme problems in the environment. If you think about it, everything that has been modernized and enhanced are primary source of destruction to nature. What else is new? Xerox Corporation may be really into preserving or they just want to be on the good side of technology, that they are emphasizing digital technologies to succumb to being nature-friendly. Just for good meaure, their tools are ahdering to this same concept. The focal point point is the environment over digital technology for this corporation.

I wonder if they would come to the point of categorizing the full color commercial color printing that is safe for the environment and would just use the colors that is environmentally-friendly?

3D printing

3D printing not on paper

If I may ask, what does a 3D printing looks like when it is printed in plastic and metal? Sorry but I haven’t seen one of those types. And what is the name of this machine? Are they being used now in the printing industry?

This is another addition to the modern tools of printing but not on paper. 3D is already being used in different styles in paper but not that much in metals and plastic. If I am correct in assuming, this machine would have to be expensive to be able to do that kind of printing technology.

I think advertisers and sales organization would love to have one of these machines. As they have already tried different ways of getting people to read about them, having them in plastic and metal materials is a sure way of another unique advertising strategy. Plastic and metals are rampant and are used prominently with many things, a better way of printing out prints.

I have heard of printing, embossing and putting on colors on not the usual things. The good thing about using index cards is that they come cheap, very cheap. With everybody doing everything electronically, this is going back to the basics, big time.

Anne Lamott said about the use of the different features of computers and printers to do just about any kind of design for these index cards. Designing them to your liking is not a problem, just do with some cool software and bring out the artistic side of you and put them all in the cards. Besides having made them yourself makes them more personalized and memorable.

If I were to do mine, I would prefer using colored cards and a colored clip to hold them together. Simple yet convenient. If you think about it, this is some sort of trend setting in the computer age. Not everyone is using them yet so that makes your work unique.

Nothing like the look on someone’s face when you show up scribbling something on your index cards when they are pushing buttons on their electronic organizers. The rule of thirds he mentioned really did make some good changes on the outcome of the picture. Looking at them closely, one can see that some drastic change been done and made the picture look more interesting compared to the one not in the thirds.

This style of adjusting the photo more on the top, bottom , left or right is just like the styles that should be done in fonts and writing. I notice that more people are still using centered or justified. The number of printed materials that have used this style is enough to make it look boring and usual. There are still the align left which is also an effective way of presenting the texts.

The same things applied to pictures. The tendency is to have in the justified or centered perfectly from every corner. Most Full Color Printing Company: Commercial Printing have seen enough photos that are in perfect symmetry with the borders. Having them placed in imperfect arrangement is looking at them in a new perspective. Try the rule of thirds and see beautiful changes. Local networks and print advertisers have rejected a campaign depicting the president superimposed on a naked torso. The aftermath of the hurricane has brought about people campaigning against the president and is using media in letting others know. The advertising media has been known to give out reasons for not publishing and showing the ad. Reasons bordering from censorship to anti-gay and anything to be able to free themselves from the scandal that this will bring.

Demeaning people through advertising is not new anymore. People have done it for years and successful most of the time too. With new and modern technologies to be used, there is no more limit to what people can do with pictures and images. To add injury to the wound, majority of the people have computers and internet nowadays. Even with no printed materials, the internet is a powerful tool in itself.

If you think of it on the more positive aspect, at least the detractors have some art sense and knows what to do with modern tools. Next time you see a “burning bush” on the internet, you probably wouldn’t relate it to the bible…

Printing done with style

Sometimes when I do full color digital printing, i try to take into consideration what I am actually printing for. Readers want to read something that is easy on the eyes and simple to decipher. The kind of product you print varies and has different layouts and styles, so therefore, the printing style for each product varies.
In my opinion, one of the page attributes that is important next to colors is the
font. I would want my readers to not understand what I want to say just because my
choice of font is unreadable. Or they do not like the font I was using.
One of the strategies used for CSS is listing of the choices of fonts that one wants
to use and then putting alternative fonts if ever the first choice is not available.
This strategy is quite helpful for those who have their fonts in there already. For
those who do not have, choosing from the genetic fonts should do the trick.
There are a few other new styles to use in fonts that you may want to try out too.
Styles that appears as tricks to the eyes. For example, fonts that looks as if they
are embossed on a page but not really. Just how it was done that made it look that
way.
Like Lachlan Cannon mentioned in his Printing with style article, he sites on the attributes and properties needed when printing for CSS style sheets.
I, being fickle-minded, would try some and see what will work best for my prints.
That is, if I ever get to choose from the multitude of choices.

Your paper choices

In color printing, there are many factors that needed a lot of consideration in order to have the right quality and perfection into your color printing and photos. It is not only the software being used or the printers that you have. Even the best inks can oftentimes not cater to the effect you wanted.

The paper that you use is one of the factors that can affect printing result. To have the right Full Color Printing, the paper quality should be able to compliment the prints put into them. Glossy papers, for example, they produce a shiny reflective base that produces rich color prints. This type of paper is best suited for brochures, catalogs and posters. Matte paper, on the other hand, does not have this glossy finish. It offers a more subdued texture but with an elegant look. Best works for prints to be easily read.

These two types of paper can be both helpful and effective depending on your Full Color Printing:Commercial Printing needs. Sometimes, the result can vary on the way you execute them and the style you do with your printing. There is a new style in which people provide first accounts on what has been happening in their place and letting people know about them. Blogging it.

Before the media got hold of what the city looks like right after the hurricane passed, there was already blogs written about it on the net. With pictures also. The first people with enough sense to take out their cameras and take a shot of the aftermath and post them together with their blog on some site can be considered the early newsmakers that have made the issue public. Media can not be at the same place at the same time but people can be. With just a few bare essentials and the picture to work for them, history is on the making.

Blogging is also where other people who want to help would have to go to know where to send their help and support. There are timely updates on the different locations and sites to visit where they can provide assistance to the victims.

If you think of it this way, blogging can be the source of news anywhere in the world. There is just enough information there and maybe the sequence of what is happening day to day to make you not wait for the news on television in the night. Or for the newspaper to come out the next morning.

Meet Digimarc

Do images have to shout to create noise? With Hollywood what it does best in tricks, yes. But with real life, besides being impossible, it is not yet been done.

How do you add noise to a colored image? Impossible? Digimarc can do that. Digimarc is one of the system used that adds a unique kind of additional grain or noise to an image to further make it more identifiable. This is also called as “watermaking”. This system is invisible for those who do not have the faintest idea what it an image look like if used with this. But for those who already know what to look for, it can easily be seen.

Using Digimarc increases the file size of a JPEG image making it required to reduce the quality in order to retain the same size file. That would be like editing just to be able to use this system. Reducing the quality will not make you a favorite among designers who thinks the the best looking designs are those that are in its best quality but also has the capacity to download fast when put into sites.

If you want to use Digimarc into your images and designs can add some special effects into them. Also side effects. More of the latter than the former.

Leaving printing to the machines

The colors you get with Macintosh match the screen. What you see is what you get. The problem is not all are using Macintosh and not all have the resources to have one. For those who do not have modern gadgetries to print their colors on, there are still ways. Just be wise enough to pay close attention.

The printer does not have any idea whatsoever of the paper it is being fed. So you, as the human with the knowledge, have to check before you press the print button. Not telling your printer the truth would really make things awful. It is best to be truthful to your printer and do some occasional checking on what kind of paper you are feeding it.

Being too smart for your own good is good for in some ways. In this case, put it in its minimum. Manufacturers have already been ahead of those who want to have their printing done and have assigned the kind of papers suitable for different printers. The only people who seem to having a hard time matching colors are the ones to are trying to be fancy and screwing with the settings to make customized profiles. It is not always smart to be too smart.

The fact that the people who have designed these monitors and printers are way smarter than you should be kept in mind always. Leave your monitors alone and just wait for the final result. Even machines do not want to be bothered with the way they do their work. Give them that.

“The view in my place is just so crappy”

This is just one of the lame excuses that people in trying to disguise their creative talents when it comes to taking pictures. If this is the case, then probably they are one of those who liked the typical pictures that millions of others have already taken. Take about cliché.

Great photos can be found anyplace where a talented photographer happens to be in. “Crappy” subjects are things that people whine about not having any source of photographic element in them. Or so they thought. What they haven’t thought about is anything is a crappy photogenic location and subject. You just have to open your eyes to see them. If you have the most beautiful place up for grabs but you choose to close your eyes, then it will still appear dull and ugly.

Get in your car and look for details in everything you set your eyes upon. Enjoy crappy places. This would be a breather from the clichés that you see everyday. Making a shift from the usual will not make an outcast out of you. If you want to make your customers jerk up and take notice, guide them into something that is more unusual. With concrete logos and inherent designs imprinted on stuff that people that people do not expect them to be, you can be sure to be credited for creativity and something close to a unique approach in your style of promotion.

With the way marketing is turning into printing materials and signage, chances of standing out among them is lesser than 50-50. The mind is a never-ending source of creativity that people have access to. Thinking of new and unique strategies to further boost your business spells success in the future. Being inherent and different from the crowd gives you the full advantage of people noticing. And notice they will.

Have your business in unique prints, styles and designs and put them out in the open. Seems that nothing can come close to the appeal that heroin has over any other drugs and non-drugs. How many brochures have this same Heroin appeal that have their readers begging to get a copy of and asking for more?

Not much, if you think about it. If you do not have what people wanted to see in brochures, you get ignored. If you have it in them, it does not guarantee the readers coming back to get you again. Putting on the best designs and styles cannot always work either as there are others out there much better than yours. There are always others much better than what you have.

Making readers addicted and hooked on you will not make you a bad influence to them. With the development of digital, the migration from these old styles was shift and before they know it, lesser people were using Polaroid. You are mistaken if you think that you heard the last about Polaroid.

Polaroid is on the process of crating a new standard in digital printing. With Polaroid not being completely out of the market, making it change and be in tuned with digital imaging is the strategy that is being thought of. Polaroid will continue to support its traditional instant film business even though that business is fast declining in sales. Only, it has converge with the new technologies of today to focus on the more advanced full color digital printing and imaging that is the trend in today’s world.

For the Polaroid fanatics out there, there is no need to worry about what will happen to your good old pal. If you have not heard about printing technologies that reduces harmful effects to the environment, obviously you know now.
